On November 4, 2022, members of the Chicago Navy Memorial Foundation gathered for a luncheon hosted by the USS HYMAN G. RICKOVER Commissioning Committee and the Chicago Yacht Club to honor the Commanding Officer and crew of the USS HYMAN G. RICKOVER (SSN-795). The event underscored the importance of Navy outreach to non-fleet concentration areas, fostering community support and strengthening ties between the Navy and regions distant from major naval bases.
