On October 14, 2023, members of the Chicago Navy Memorial Foundation participated in several key naval events, including the commissioning ceremony of the USS Hyman G. Rickover (SSN-795), the unveiling of an Admiral Hyman G. Rickover exhibit at the Submarine Force Museum, and the Chairman’s Reception at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.  The commissioning ceremony for the USS Hyman G. Rickover marked a significant milestone for the U.S. Navy, officially bringing the latest Virginia-class submarine into active service. This event underscores the Navy's commitment to modernizing its fleet with advanced, high-tech submarines designed for strategic and tactical superiority. The day's events also celebrated the legacy of Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, a pivotal figure in submarine development, whose contributions were highlighted by the new museum exhibit. The Chairman’s Reception, held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, provided an opportunity for further recognition and networking among naval and maritime leaders.
