Chicago Navy Memorial Foundation Marks Pearl Harbor Day with Admiral Watkins

Rear Adm. Larry Watkins reminds the audience that, “Pearl Harbor should always remind us of what America is capable of when we come together to stand-up and fight for a just and moral cause.”

On December 7, 2022, members of the Chicago Navy Memorial Foundation hosted a luncheon at the Union League Club of Chicago to mark the 81st anniversary of the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. Rear Admiral Larry Watkins, deputy commander of the U.S. Third Fleet, served as the keynote speaker for the event. Pearl Harbor Day continues to be commemorated each year to honor the lives lost and the impact of the attack on December 7, 1941, which led to the United States’ entry into World War II.  The observance serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who fought and died, and it reflects on the enduring significance of resilience and national unity in the face of adversity.
